BBM grace’s LPP’s 4th GA

In its 4th General Assembly with the theme: Tungo sa Makabayang Lalawigan, President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and Speaker of the House Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez graced the occasion and provided the marching orders as LPP seeks to fortify the role of its member-provinces as partners of the national government in further improving the quality of life of our people.

In his speech before Provincial Governors, Pres. Bongbong Marcos emphasized the need for a unified and united partnership with local governments in pursuing not only a whole-government approach, but a whole-nation approach in resolving problems that beset the nation.

While provinces have initiated their respective programs in their localities, there is a need to dovetail these initiatives with the legislative agenda of the national government, not by imposition from the national government, but by consulting and working with them. Discussing the Mandanas-Garcia case, the President saw the need to support lower class LGUs and identify devolved functions as well as hybrid functions that both the national and local government may pursue jointly and separately.

LPP was then enjoined by no less the Vice Chair for the Public Sector, Gov. Reynaldo Tamayo, Jr. to actively tackle anti-poverty programs.

Member-provinces were also enjoined to participate in resolving issues on public land management. Member-Provinces also raised their concerns involving PhilHealth as the Chairs of their respective Local Health Boards and implementers of the Universal Health Care Act.
