Daniel Ramirez Fernando is the incumbent governor of the Province of Bulacan. He was born and raised in Barangay Tabang, Guiguinto, Bulacan and is the fourth of seven children of Pablo G. Ramirez and Luningning F. Ramirez.

He completed his primary and secondary education at Tabang Elementary School and Bulacan College of Arts and Trade (BCAT), respectively. He then earned a degree in Business Administration Major in Management at the University of the East. He also completed an Executive Course on Public Administration in the College of Public Administration and Governance at the University of the Philippines – Diliman Campus.

Daniel began his outstanding leadership track in public service when he served as the Chairman of Barangay Youth Council from 1981 to 1984. Yet before fully engaging in politics, he was first able to make a name for himself in the show business industry. Among his notable roles are Danny in the critically acclaimed film “Scorpio Nights 1”, Ka Puroy in the TV series “Kirara, Ano ang Kulay ng Pag-ibig?” and Rigor Villoria in the TV series “Ikaw Lang ang Iibigin”.

After establishing a career as a successful actor, Daniel’s desire to lead and help his fellow Bulakeños remained strong. This led him to run and eventually won as the Provincial Board Member of the 2nd District of Bulacan in 2001 where he served as the Senior Board Member for two terms until 2006. His political career continued as he won the vice gubernatorial race for three terms from 2010 to 2019. He started leading the Province of Bulacan as the Governor in 2019 where he garnered the highest number of votes in the history of Bulacan election.

Gov. Daniel’s passion to serve and excellent performance have opened doors to many programs that help uplift the lives of every Bulakenyo. He is best known for his priority program The People’s Agenda 10 where he shows his devotion to duty by putting the people first. The said program upholds all essential sectors such as health, education, livelihood, agriculture, industry, tourism, environment, and peace and order. The success of these advocacies led the Province of Bulacan to greater heights with major awards on its belt such as Top 1 Richest Province in Local Revenue Generation for Fiscal Year 2020 (Department of Finance), 10th place Most Competitive Province-National Level (Department of Trade and Industry) and Outstanding Public Servant of the Year for Gov. Daniel Fernando from various award-giving institutions in the country and overseas.

Gov. Daniel faced immense challenges in his first term due to the ongoing health crisis, but he remained resilient and exerted even more efforts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of his constituents. As he moves forward to his second gubernatorial term, he vows to continue fulfilling his sworn mission to lead, to serve and to love the Province of Bulacan and his fellow Bulakenyos.
